The UniSAFE survey aims to better understand the prevalence of sexual and gender-based violence within universities. The data collected will help in the implementation of concrete tools to put an end to it. This survey is part of the ULiège #RESPECT campaign.
ULiège cooperates with the UniSAFE project. UniSAFE is an EU-funded research project that aims to eradicate sexual and gender-based violence from the research sector.
Gender-based violence is violence directed towards a person because of their gender or violence that affects persons of a specific gender disproportionally. It is, therefore, not limited to violence against women, and may affect all people.
The survey results will be combined with qualitative evidence in a multi-level study design and translated into operational tools for research organisations and policymakers. Over 45 universities and research organisations from 15 European countries are participating in the UniSAFE survey – the largest of its kind in Europe in the research sector.

Your participation in the survey will be anonymous. It will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.
Whether you have personally experienced gender-based violence or not, your participation will help to establish solid data on this persistent and often undervalued problem. You will also be contributing to ending gender-based violence within universities.
ULiège's participation in this survey is part of the #RESPECT campaign launched in 2019 by the Vice-Rector for Education and Welfare, Anne-Sophie Nyssen, to combat the various forms of discrimination within the ULiège community.
UniSAFE acknowledges the personal and sensitive nature of this research and puts ethics at the forefront of its activities. All data gathered via this survey are completely anonymised, with no possibility of re-identifying individuals, and aggregated to rule out any potential breach of confidentiality. The University of Liege will only have access to the anonymised institutional data.

Il concerne l’égalité entre les sexes et vise à mettre fin à toutes les formes de discriminations et de violences contre les femmes et les filles dans le monde entier. Les cibles définies concernent : la lutte contre les discriminations et contre les violences faites aux femmes, l’accès des femmes à des fonctions de direction et de décision et l’accès universel aux droits sexuels et reproductifs.
