Towards an Energy Community at the LIEGE science park
21 companies and ULiège are studying the possibility of setting up an energy community at the LIEGE science park, in a pioneering approach based on the willingness of players to work together.

es services immobiliers de l’Université de Liège ont constaté le 9 mars dernier l’abattage de plusieurs dizaines d’arbres le long du boulevard du rectorat (entre le rond-point Marcel Florkin et la Botanique), dans le cadre des travaux d’extension des infrastructures des Centres sportifs du Sart Tilman (centre de l’Adeps), travaux réalisés par l’intercommunale Ecetia pour le maître d’ouvrage, la Communauté Française.
Une partie des arbres abattus se situe sur une bande de terrain appartenant à l’Université de Liège. Lors de la préparation de dossier, l’Université avait clairement signifié sa volonté de voir maintenir une frange boisée tout le long du boulevard du rectorat, telle qu’elle est prévue dans son schéma d’aménagement.
Certains arbres situés sur les terrains propriété de l’Université et « réservés » (ne pouvant être abattus) dans le cadre du permis octroyé à Ecetia, ayant été abattus, l’ULiège a constaté l’infraction avec le service forestier et le département de l’urbanisme de la Ville de Liège. Elle a rencontré le maître d’ouvrage et l’auteur de projet, et elle a exigé une réparation, à savoir la reconstitution prioritaire de l’écran boisé sur toute la longueur de son terrain en bordure du boulevard du rectorat.
La replantation devra se faire avec des sujets de forte taille (40 à 50 cm de circonférence, 7 à 8 mètres de haut), en plus des arbres de moindres dimensions initialement prévus, afin de reconstituer le plus rapidement possible un écran boisé en bordure du boulevard du rectorat.
