Two candidates are running for the 2022 rectoral election:
- Mr. Jean WINAND, full professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters
- Ms Anne-Sophie NYSSEN, full professor at the Faculty of Psychology, Speech Therapy and Education Sciences
The vote is based on the weighted universal suffrage, with the votes of the academic staff counting for 65%, the scientific staff for 10%, the administrative staff for 10% and the students for 15%.
Voting is organised on paper and in person.
To be elected, the candidate must obtain more than 50% of the weighted votes cast. A validly cast vote is a vote in favour of a candidate or "to no one" (blank or invalid votes are not counted). If no candidate reaches this majority in the first round, a second round will be held on Tuesday 10 and Wednesday 11 May.
The position of Rector is open to any full professor at the University of Liège who enjoys civil and political rights.
