Professor and researcher in chemical engineering, Angélique Léonard has just been appointed for a four-year term on the Scientific Council of the Agence Interuniversitaire de la Francophonie (AUF - University Agency for Francophony). This network of more than 1,000 educational institutions promotes solidarity between higher education and research institutions for the implementation of projects that concretely transform the university system.

The Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) brings together more than 1,000 universities, grandes écoles, university networks and scientific research centres using the French language in 119 countries. Created 60 years ago, it is one of the largest associations of higher education and research institutions in the world. It is also the operator for higher education and research of the Francophonie Summit. As such, it implements, in its field of competence, the resolutions adopted by the Conference of Heads of State and Governments of countries sharing the French language.

The AUF works with many partners: private companies and their foundations, states and governments, national development aid agencies, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, and academic, scientific and cultural associations. Its teams around the world provide support and advice for the design and monitoring of projects and facilitate the sharing of best practices, expertise and innovations.

Angélique Léonard (Chemical Engineering / School of Engineering) has just been appointed for a four-year term to the Scientific Council of the AUF, the advisory body in charge of proposing scientific policy orientations and defining the program evaluation policy of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie.
