The joint swearing-in ceremony for new members of the Academic Corps and the honouring of Professors Emeritus, Honorary and Retired Professors was held on Thursday 1 December 2022 at the Salle académique of the University of Liège.

ector Anne-Sophie Nyssen welcomed the new members of the academic body, as well as the retiring teachers, emphasizing the immutable nature of this moment at the crossroads:
"Those who leave us do not really leave: their teachings and experience remain precious to us. Those who arrive are indebted to them. Indebted for having developed teachings and research whose torch the new academics welcomed today take up, with new orientations, of course."
An important moment of the year that illustrates both permanence and renewal. Albert Einstein said that " It is the essential role of the teacher to awaken the joy of working and knowing. " A mission of transmission that shapes personalities for life and has contributed to the influence of the University of Liege for over 200 years.
