Honoring Doctors honoris causa & PhD's (March 2023)

On March 25th, the ^13th ceremony of the honorary Doctorates & Doctorates with thesis was held at the University of Liege. 263 PhDs and eleven Belgian and international personalities (one per Faculty) were honored on the Sart Tilman campus.

ach year, some 200 to 300 PhDs with a thesis graduate from the University of Liege. In 2022, there were 263 of them, 51% women and 49% men, representing no less than 39 nationalities and coming from the 11 faculties of the University.

These 263 PhDs are now the faces of ULiège throughout the world and are part of an international community of PhDs. They represent for the Institution a great pride, that of having accompanied them in this journey and of having contributed to their specialization in a field of research, but also of noting their qualities and their skills.

Becoming a doctor at ULiège in 2022

In 2022, 267 PhDs graduated from the Université de Liège, after defending their theses.

Theses on a wide range of subjects, written in French, English or Italian, have propelled our Doctor-es to the four corners of the world.

This event is also the occasion for the university community to celebrate 11 Belgian and international scientists of great value, rewarded for the remarkable quality of their work and their fundamental contribution to the progress of society.
