Festival of Cultures ULiège: a look back at the first edition in pictures


Over 500 of you joined us on Thursday December 7 for ULiège Festival of Cultures! It was a colorful and lively first edition, held on the Sart Tilman campus.


nspired by the "Festival of Cultures" organized at the University of Oulu in Finland (partner UNIC), the aim of this event was to highlight the diversity present within our institution and underline the importance of human links.

A tried and tested first edition!

Diverse stands

60 exhibitors spread over 15 stands presented their cultures and offered a variety of experiences: Amazigh, Africa, Madagascar, Italy, Mexico, Cameroon, Japan, Ukraine, Burma, Turkey, Togo, China, Brazil, Poland and Belgium (Malmedy Carnival and Stavelot Laetare).

Information stands were also on hand to answer your questions: Unic, International Relations, RISE and Pacodel.

An impressive turnout

Over 500 students and staff explored the stands and took part in the activities.

International gastronomy

A meal with flavors from around the world was offered by the University Restaurants.

Visitors from all walks of life

The event was a focal point for students and staff from all faculties and campuses.

Around the world, while staying in Liège

Participants were invited to fill in their passport by visiting the various stands, with a competition to boot. 200 of you took part - thank you!

A celebration of diversity

The first edition of the Festival of Cultures at ULiège was a great success, with a promising future for this event celebrating cultural diversity within the university community.
