Almost 500 of you joined us on Thursday November 27 on the Sart Tilman campus for the Festival of Cultures! The festival was organized as part of ULiège's International Week and celebrated its third edition, once again a rich and colorful one, full of exchanges and discoveries!

90 students and staff showcased 16 cultures for this third edition

The Festival gave visitors the chance to travel around the world while staying in Liège and discovering the cultural diversity of our community.

The following countries and regions were represented: Belgium, Brazil, Cameroon, Croatia, Finland, Reunion Island, Germany, Japan, Madagascar, Mexico, Niger, Basque Country, Turkey, Vietnam, Kurdistan and the Berber region.

Information stands were also on hand to answer your questions: UnicService des Relations internationales,Institut Supérieur des Langues Vivantes (ISLV), ESN ULiège (Erasmus student organization) and Pacodel.

The student radio station 48FM offered a radio workshop, challenging you to produce an interview with your mouth full. A great opportunity to take home an original creation by Liège illustrator Jodessineunpeu featuring Roger le Toré.

Inspired by the "Festival of cultures" organized at by the University of Oulu in Finland (partner UNIC), this event aims to highlight the diversity present within our institution and underline the importance of human links.

A delighted audience

Nearly 500 students and staff explored the stands and took part in the activities. International gastronomy was also showcased at the various stands and through the dishes served by les Restos universitaires.

The event was a focal point for students and staff from all faculties and campuses.

A look back at other International Week events

From November 24 to 28, 2025, ULiège vibed to the rhythm of events promoting cultures, internationalism and sharing, spread across the different campuses. The week was an opportunity to reinforce the many links ULiège has forged beyond our borders in research, teaching and community services, and to highlight the cultural diversity of the ULiège community.

Throughout the week, students were able to find out about international mobility opportunities available to them throughout their studies, discover testimonials and photos of students on mobility trips, and learn why an Erasmus experience boosts their soft skills for the rest of their lives and careers. Two film debates took place in Gembloux and Liège, featuring exchanges and testimonials on the issues at stake in Palestine today, and on soft mobility and travel.

Foreign language learning was given pride of place thanks to a competition organized by ISLV to win a foreign language course.

The taste buds also enjoyed a gastronomic world tour prepared by international students at Gembloux.

Several parties were organized for international students and researchers, enabling them to forge new relationships. The NGO Eclosio (future Ucoopia) also organized an exchange of knowledge between universities, NGOs and communities.

Finally, the UNIC Day brought together students to reflect on inclusion, campus life and the role of the university in the city.

Students, teachers, researchers and staff all made their contribution to promoting our internationalization on campus and around the world.
