Following the rector elections held on April 15 and 16, Anne-Sophie Nyssen was re-elected rector of the University of Liège. She received 77.17% of the weighted votes cast. Her second term will begin on October1, 2026.
Anne-Sophie Nyssen is a full professor in the Faculty of Psychology, Speech Therapy, and Educational Sciences. She specializes in occupational psychology, cognitive ergonomics, and workplace interventions.
Anne-Sophie Nyssen was elected as the first female rector of ULiège in 2022.

Following the decree of November 21, 2013, regarding rector elections at the University of Liège, the entire university community (academic, scientific, and administrative staff, as well as students—approximately 30,000 voters) was invited to vote in the election for the rector of ULiège.
The vote was conducted using a weighted universal suffrage system, with academic staff votes counting for 65%, scientific staff votes for 10%, administrative staff votes for 10%, and student votes for 15%.
