The FERULg group (Femmes Enseignement Recherche Université de Liège) is awarded of the Anne-Marie Lizin - Théroigne de Méricourt 2017 Prize for its work promoting women's careers in the University and for the commitment of its members, both professional and personal, in the fight against gender discrimination.
The Anne-Marie Lizin - Théroigne de Méricourt 2017 Prize - Special edition "Women scientists" was awarded on the 4December 2017 to the FERULg research group. Represented by Juliette Dor (ordinary professor in Philosophy and Letters), Claire Gavray (Head of Works and Lecturer in Social Sciences) and Marie-Elisabeth Henneau (Head of Works and Lecturer in History), this interdisciplinary group was rewarded for their work. The FERULg has just published the book "Où sont les femmes? La féminisation à l'Université de Liège" (Where are the women? Feminisation at the University of Liège).
Claire Gavray was also honoured at the ceremony - which took place in Namur - for her personal and professional commitment to gender equality, for the excellence of her work and for her role as a role model as a woman scientist.
Founded on March 8, 2001 (International Women's Day), the FER ULg is open to those who, at the University of Liège, are involved, both through their research and teaching, in the scientific field of Women's Studies - Gender Studies.
The FER ULg is both a network of researchers and teachers specialising in Women and Gender Studies - Gender Studies and an association of ULiège teachers and researchers concerned about the situation of women in the University. FERULg also maintains a number of collaborations with research networks or scholarly societies and associations.
