With the publication of its report on the state of gender equality 2024-2025, the University of Liège reaffirms its deep commitment to an equitable and inclusive academic community.
Produced by Eléna Chane-Alune, ULiège's Gender Contact Person, with the support of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, this report provides a detailed overview of the progress made in terms of gender equality within the institution.
The document provides a numerical analysis of the gendered composition of the student population, staff and governance bodies, as well as a follow-up of concrete actions taken at all levels of the university.

Implementing the institutional action plan
Following on from the work of the Gender and Equality Council, chaired by Florence Caeymaex, the plan highlights ten project sheets drawn up and monitored by ULiège's various components. These sheets reflect the implementation of an ambitious and progressive institutional action plan, geared towards the sustainable transformation of university practices and cultures.
Among the themes developed are :
- visibility and prevention of sexist and sexual violence,
- training and awareness-raising on gender bias and stereotypes,
- promoting equality in academic and scientific careers,
- support for parenthood and the inclusion of LGBTQIA+ people,
- the feminization of learning spaces and the symbolic valorization of female figures at university.
Each fact sheet reports on the progress of the projects, the players involved and the follow-up mechanisms put in place to ensure their sustainability.
The report is thus a tool for steering, transparency and collective mobilization in the service of a fairer university, where gender equality is combined with all the dimensions of diversity.
