Within the framework of the UniGR-ECHO series, the ‘ECHO 2026 – Sustainability and the Circular Future with UniGR-CIRKLA’ will take place at Saarland University in Saarbrücken on 14 and 15 September 2026.
This scientific symposium will bring together researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and educators. The conference is designed to inspire both those already involved in UniGR-CIRKLA and newcomers interested in sustainability and circular economy challenges and opportunities.
With a specific focus on early career researchers, participants will have the chance to share and discuss experiences, present their work, and build networks across disciplines and regions.
The conference welcomes interdisciplinary contributions from academia (in particular early career researchers), industry, policymakers, and civil society. Submissions may include original research, case studies, policy analyses, and practical implementation experiences supporting the transition toward a sustainable circular economy.

The event starts on Monday 14 September at 5 pm with an opening talk and a get-together. It will finish on Tuesday 15 September at 6.15 pm.
