Towards an Energy Community at the LIEGE science park
21 companies and ULiège are studying the possibility of setting up an energy community at the LIEGE science park, in a pioneering approach based on the willingness of players to work together.
As a public university open to the world and is anchored in the scientific, cultural and economic development of its region, the University of Liège relies on its three pillars: teaching, research and civic engagement.
ULiège trains responsible citizens who are provided with cutting-edge knowledge and critical thinking, are able to share knowledge and can push forward an increasingly complex world.
ULiège develops and promotes excellence in research, multidisciplinary and direct engagement with its instruction.
Global exposure is a top priority at the University of Liège. The institution offers a wide range of international mobility opportunities to students, researchers and staff, enabling them to enhance their cross-disciplinary skills and language knowledge.
ULiège: an experience of daily living. Located in 3 cities and 4 campuses, the university is a key player in terms of the environment and mobility.
As the World Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia approaches on May 17, the University of Liege affirms its support for the LGBTQIA+ community and commits itself to the fight against all forms of discrimination and violence based on gender or sexual preference.
For several years, ULiège has been committed to protecting and defending victims of homophobia, transphobia or sexism. Procedures ranging from mediation to sanction are activated by the authorities to put an end to inappropriate behavior whenever it is reported to them. Confidential support persons and psychologists are available to listen to testimonies or calls for help in case of harassment, violence or non-respect. In order to reinforce this first line contact, two email addresses have been created:
The fight against harassment and the respect of diversity is a long-term commitment of the ULiège authorities. Initiatives are taken at different levels, but are not always sufficiently relayed to the privileged interlocutors. A meeting between the ULiège authorities and a series of actors in the field will be held on May 17 in order to establish an inventory of existing actions and priority issues on which to continue working in consultation with the Gender and Equality Council.
Students and staff members who would like to participate in this meeting are invited to send an e-mail to: qualitedevie@uliege.be.
To close this awareness day, the entire university community is invited to a concert-show focused on the acceptance of the diversity of sexual orientations and gender identities.
At the intersection of a concert and a theatrical production, Chose unfolds, piece by piece, the journey of a young person exploring her gender identity and sexuality. Chose is both a tool for expression and a tool for emergence and debate.
Different activities took place during the Month of Pride on the Gembloux campus: exhibition, improv show, queer aperitif, festive and militant garden pride.
To support its commitment, the University of Liege will raise the LGBTQIA+ flag on the campuses of downtown Liege, Sart Tilman and Gembloux from May 17. A commitment also visible through the poster campaign #RESPECT which will start on the different sites of ULiège.
