They met in a university lecture hall, in the library, during a "guindaille" ... 2 years ago, 15 years ago, some over 70! On the occasion of Valentine's Day, they reveal a little piece of their history.

"A great event at the University of Liège: in 1959, King Baudouin was received by Rector Dubuisson. I was there, and so was he. We were seeing each other for the first time, without knowing that it would be for life!"

A major event at the University of Liège: in 1959, King Baudouin was received by Rector Dubuisson. I was there, and so was he. We were seeing each other for the first time, without knowing that it would be for life!

As candy students, we took the same courses at the Institut de pharmacie. Our love grew as we discovered the beauty of science. With wonderful teachers: Dubuisson, Stainier, Denoël, Lapière, Maquinay, Baudrenghien.

These university buildings were our second home, and we spent hours and hours there. We knew every nook and cranny. Our names followed each other on the lists: Remouchamps-Sadzot. So our lab tables were right next to each other. A luxury for two students in love.

Our parents wouldn't hear of marriage while we were studying. Six years of univ was a long time... But we promised to be as wise as they were (we assume) at our age, shortly before the wedding.

We both graduated as pharmacists in 1963, and married the same year (thanks parents!). We had 6 beautiful children: 3 boys and 3 girls. My dear husband sadly passed away on June 8, 2021. Today would have been our 60th wedding anniversary. Fortunately, love never dies."

"We went out together on Saint Torê's Day in 1995. This is our 28th Valentine's Day together!"

we went out together on Saint Torê's Day in 1995. Before that, we were part of the same group of friends. We'd bump into each other mostly at the 2 Sess, a café in the Faculty of Law and Business Administration (at Sart Tilman), and in the Carré. Our first exchange must have been "Gueule en terre!".
As I was bleuette and Antonio togé, we hesitated and took several months before falling in love. What made him fall in love were the sharing cakes I'd bring to the 2 Sess. Baptism united us, and continues to do so: our eldest son's godfather was also baptized in 1994. Our anaesthetist is a childhood friend. Today, we have 4 children. We've been married for 23 years and together for almost 29. This is our 28th Valentine's Day together.

"Even though our story didn't quite begin at university, it's partly thanks to our studies that we met."

I met my girlfriend at university in our first year in 2017. We didn't talk much and mostly bumped into each other during our classes together, then lost touch after our second year. We met again in 2022, at Pride in Brussels. She was the first to remember me (whereas I didn't remember much, ouch)! We chatted a lot and quickly became close. Today, we've been together for 1 year and 8 months. Even if our story didn't quite begin at university, it's partly thanks to our studies that we met."

"We declared our love for each other in 1968. It was in Paris, on a student trip."

We declared our love for each other in 1968. At the time, we were2nd and 1st year students respectively in Philo and Lettres, in the History of Antiquity section. It was in Paris, during a student trip. We waited until I graduated before getting married in July 1969. Seduced by the city of Liège, we decided to settle there. This enabled both of us to resume our studies at ULg while teaching, leading to a degree in Oriental Languages and Literature (Egyptian - Hebrew), obtained in 1979.

"I was working in the library. A boy spotted me and then described me in an anonymous post on the Spotted Uège Facebook page. I came forward in comments, he contacted me."

In March 2022, I was working at the B52 ingé library. A boy spotted me and then described me in an anonymous post on the Spotted Liège Facebook page. My friends spotted the post and showed it to me when I came to meet them in class. So I commented on it, he contacted me, and we agreed to meet up after La Revue (a play organized by the engineers). One thing led to another, and we continued to talk and see each other at l'unif. A month later, we were together, and it's been almost 2 years now.

"My grandparents met in 1e candi Pharma, in 1947. Family legend has it that their first kiss took place in the greenhouses of the Botanical Gardens."

My grandparents met in 1e candi Pharma, in 1947. The story is made all the funnier by the fact that it begins with the beautiful Denise looking ad valvas at the names of her fellow students... Some time later, she remarks to her friend Lily that she wonders what the guy called Raoul Cocu (amicale des handicapés patronymiques, bonjour) must look like. And, of course, it was that handsome dark-haired guy with the Clark Gable moustache. (No, but look at that, they could have had a career in Hollywood, frankly). Family legend has it that their first kiss took place in the greenhouses of the Botanical Gardens. But they're not here to confirm it. They will have a child together.

"The last four months of our studies, on Erasmus, were the trial by fire to seal our relationship: one in Angola and the other in central France. The return was the icing on the cake, the long-awaited precious sesame received together: our diploma!"

We met in our third year of a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, but didn't really get to know each other. In 2012, our story began at the famous "Ingé - Psycho" evening during our first master's degree. We went on to share most of our university projects together and, above all, hours of study time spent on the benches of ULg libraries. The last four months of our Erasmus studies were the trial by fire that sealed our relationship: one in Angola and the other in central France. The return was the icing on the cake, the long-awaited sesame we received together: our diploma! In 2016, we got married, and not on just any date: August 20, in memory of the days of the blockade in this library on Place du XX août. More than 11 years later, we're still a happy couple, both privately and professionally, and we've extended our family with 2 little boys. A true love story "made in ULg".

"I met Terry in the amphitheatre at Europe when I was in secondary 5 and he was in his2nd year as a civil engineer. My visit to the University during school days was the catalyst for our meeting. Since then, we've never been apart."

I met Terry, my future husband, on October 31, 2007 in the amphitheaters of Europe, when I was in 5th secondary and he was in his2nd year of civil engineering. My visit to the University during school days was the catalyst for our meeting, as my brother, also a civil engineering student, introduced us. Since then, we've never been apart, continuing our studies together at the University, where I chose physical sciences after high school. After 15 years of love, we sealed our union in 2014 and are now the proud parents of two adorable boys, aged 7 and 5."

"One day, I offered to sell her my syllabi and notes. Not only did she buy them, but we've been sharing everything ever since."

Martine is now a chamber president at the Court of Appeal, like me. She works as a civil magistrate, and I as a criminal magistrate. We met in 1977, as part of a group of Verviers students who came together by train to attend classes, then held on Place du 20-Août. She was in her first year (candi) when I was entering my second. One day, I offered to sell her my syllabuses and notes. Not only did she buy them, but we've shared everything since: married life, cohabitation, marriage in 1987, three children (two of whom graduated from ULiège), and two parallel careers in the legal profession. Thank you ULiège.

"Our first exchange took place on the staircase leading down from the Wilmotte amphitheatre to the Kurth amphitheatre. Later, he would declare his love for me at the Musée de la Boverie, during a visit organized by the Cercle des étudiants en Histoire."

Us? We've been going out for 7 years now. What's the latest? The two of us have just moved in together after renovating our whole house.

We met at ULiège, back when it was still called "ULg". More specifically, it was our modern history professor, and in a sense, the system itself, that brought us together...

Because I had too few credits at the end of my first year, I ended up in Bac 1 with him. We absolutely had to have two delegates per year: as I was doubling up, my face was not unknown. So our teacher appointed me as his second.

Our first exchange took place on the stairs leading down from the Wilmotte amphitheatre to the Kurth amphitheatre. Later, he would declare his love for me at the Musée de la Boverie, during a visit organized by the history students' circle.

Today, he's my best friend, my confidant, my teammate for all possible adventures, but above all, before being my life companion, he was my co-delegate, and that makes all the difference.

"We were born on the same day and in the same clinic (in Rocourt, of course). We met again at HEC: the love story began in July 1988, at the end of the2nd candi exams."

We were born on the same day, in the same clinic (in Rocourt, of course). We met again at HEC: our love story began in July 1988, at the end of the2nd year candy exams.

After a 20th birthday party in December 1988, we decided to get married in 1992, and three years later little Charline was born. A HEC baby, because she was studying... at HEC. It was there that she met her boyfriend, who was also studying at HEC.

4 HEC alumni in a family of 6! And it doesn't stop there: our best friends also met at the same university. Just goes to show, you can combine love, friendship and studies!

"We met in 2015 on the benches of ULiège via groups of mutual friends. Today, at the age of 26, and after growing up together for seven years, we've just become engaged."

We met in 2015 on the benches of the ULiège via groups of mutual friends. Both single in 2016, we got closer in the summer, between outings, parties and a trip to the seaside. After several months of flirting, we became a couple at the end of September. Since then, we've been together ever since: two passionate people with the same studies, in love with travel and discovery, with the same philosophy of life in addition to being a great team on a daily basis. A real fusional relationship, always, all the time. Today, at the age of 26, and after 7 years of growing up together, we've just become engaged.

"We'd bump into each other from time to time in the corridors, in the cafeteria, on the sundae... I'll spare you a few adventures, like the fact that he didn't come to join me during my Erasmus stay in Italy. Out of sight, out of mind!"

I was studying Law, he was studying EAA. A friend who was doing the same studies as him introduced me to him in the corridors of the unif, just outside the De Méan auditorium. Our first discussion was about the new unif garbage cans!

From then on, we'd bump into each other from time to time in the corridors, in the cafeteria, at parties... I'll spare you a few adventures, like the fact that he didn't come to join me during my Erasmus stay in Italy. Out of sight, out of mind!

We both graduated, I in the class of 1998, he in the class of 1996. Thanks to our fine diplomas, we found jobs. Then we started a family with two adorable daughters. The eldest is doing a Bac 2 in Biology at ULiège.

"I contacted him on the networks to tell him how I felt, and a month later, it resulted in a beautiful little couple blogging together, typing classes together. Today, as Master 1 students, we're getting ready to bring a group project to fruition together."

When we were in Bac 2 Psycho, Sacha told a mutual friend that he was interested in me. At the time, I was afraid of getting into a relationship, so I preferred to let him know I wasn't interested.

6 months went by, during which we talked all the time. In the middle of a class, a man even interrupted us: "How much longer are you going to chat?". We laughed about it.

Later, I realized that this boy was totally my style, healthy and caring. I contacted him on the net to tell him how I felt, and a month later we became a beautiful little couple, blogging together and studying together. Today, as Master 1 students, we're getting ready to work on a group project together.

"The frank camaraderie turned a corner when, as part of a class dinner, wanting to add a layer to the gossip circulating about us, we decided to make others believe we were together."

Our story began in September 2002. We were 1st year undergraduates (formerly Masters) in Educational Sciences, and had arrived late for our statistics class. It was customary not to enter the classroom once the class had started. So it was while waiting for the break in the hall of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences that we got to know each other.

Day after day, in and out of class, we got to know each other. The camaraderie reached a crescendo when, at a class dinner with Marcel Crahay and wanting to add a layer to the gossip already circulating about us, we decided to make the others believe we were together... that was on November 29, 2002.

After graduation, we both worked as teaching assistants, for Dieudonné Leclercq and Brigitte Denis on one side, and for Jean-Luc Gilles and Annick Fagnant on the other. These years spent at university were the occasion of a wedding in 2008, a first birth in 2010 and a second in 2012. Today, as parents of young teenagers, we never miss a chance to reminisce about our "college years".
