Biography
Damien Ernst is a Professor at the Faculty of Applied Sciences, and a researcher at the Montefiore Institute of Electrical and Engineering and Computer Science Research Unit.
His research interests include electrical energy systems and reinforcement learning, a subfield of artificial intelligence. He has co-authored more than 300 research papers and two books. Throughout his career, he has been actively engaged in numerous successful research collaborations with the industry. He has also won numerous awards for his research, including the prestigious 2018 Blondel Medal. He is regularly consulted by industries, governments, international agencies, and the media for his deep understanding of the energy transition.
