Action by students in solidarity with Palestine. A message from Rector Anne-Sophie Nyssen
A "Sit-in liège students in solidarity for Palestine" is currently taking place at the University of Liège, on the Place du 20 août campus.
As a public university open to the world and is anchored in the scientific, cultural and economic development of its region, the University of Liège relies on its three pillars: teaching, research and civic engagement.
ULiège trains responsible citizens who are provided with cutting-edge knowledge and critical thinking, are able to share knowledge and can push forward an increasingly complex world.
ULiège develops and promotes excellence in research, multidisciplinary and direct engagement with its instruction.
Global exposure is a top priority at the University of Liège. The institution offers a wide range of international mobility opportunities to students, researchers and staff, enabling them to enhance their cross-disciplinary skills and language knowledge.
ULiège: an experience of daily living. Located in 3 cities and 4 campuses, the university is a key player in terms of the environment and mobility.

The Robotein® platform joins the Instruct-ERIC consortium, a pan-European research infrastructure active in structural biology.
The Robotein® platform joins the Instruct-ERIC consortium, a pan-European research infrastructure active in structural biology. On this occasion, the Center for Protein Engineering (CIP) (CIP) of ULiège received, in the presence of Véronique Halloin, General Secretary of the FNRS, the Vice-Rectors for Research of ULiège and ULB, and a representative of the Minister Willy Borsus, a delegation of Instruct, academic researchers and industrial partners to explore the latest technological innovation and to develop new collaborations.
The Robotein® platform, inaugurated in May 2015, is a technological platform for high throughput protein cloning, expression, purification and analysis. It is based on the skills and state-of-the-art equipment of two laboratories of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, namely the CIP (ULiège) and the Centre for Structural Biology and Bioinformatics of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB).
On September 27th, Instruct-ERIC's Executive Committee, confirmed by the General Assembly (Council) of October 16th, 2019, decided to integrate the Robotein® platform into its Belgian center, considering it to be a valuable addition to the consortium's catalogue of services. Robotein® thus becomes one of the two independent structures of the Belgian Instruct Affiliate Centre (BIACe), which is officially affiliated to the European INSTRUCT initiative, the other platform being Nanobodies4Instruct (VIB-VUB). Instruct-ERIC is a pan-European research infrastructure, active in the field of structural biology, making high-quality technologies and methods available to researchers. This legal structure recognized by the European Commission in July 2018 offers researchers from Instruct member countries access to the services/technologies offered through Instruct-ERIC centres, possibly with full funding. In addition, Instruct-ERIC provides industry with a single point of access to a wide range of state-of-the-art structural biology techniques and expertise.
The integration of Robotein® into the Instruct-ERIC consortium will give the platform greater visibility, not only in Belgium but also on a European level.

The seven partners of the Université de la Grande Région met at the Château de Colonster (ULiege campus) to take stock of current collaborations and outline the future of the consortium.
21 companies and ULiège are studying the possibility of setting up an energy community at the LIEGE science park, in a pioneering approach based on the willingness of players to work together.
