Director of CEDEM (Centre for Ethnicity and Migration Studies) and Director of Research at frs-FNRS, Marco Martiniello has just been awarded the honorary title of Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy. This title is granted by the President of the Republic of Italy.

he diploma and badges were presented to him at a ceremony held at the Brussels Embassy. The honor is granted by the President of the Republic, on the proposal of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, after consultation with the Council of the Order. Chaired by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Council is composed of four other members, including the head of the Republic's diplomatic ceremonial. This title is intended to reward those who have acquired particular merits in the promotion of friendship and collaboration between Italy and other countries and in the promotion of links with Italy.
