The swearing-in ceremony for new members of the academic staff (teaching staff and permanent representatives of the F.R.S.-FNRS) and the honouring of emeritus, honorary and retired members of the teaching staff took place on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at the Salle académique of the Université de Liège.

he Rector Anne-Sophie Nyssen welcomed the new members of the Academic Staff, the new FNRS-qualified researchers and the retiring lecturers, underlining the essential continuity between those leaving and those arriving.
"This perpetual pendulum swing is an image that illustrates the permanence, and therefore the essential role, of the university, always attentive to changes in society and eager to explore new knowledge."
Albert Einstein said that " It is the essential role of the teacher to awaken the joy of working and knowing. " A mission of transmission that shapes personalities for life and has contributed to the influence of the University of Liège for over 200 years.
